Observation Week
Parents observation weeks occur once in the fall and once in the spring terms. Parents are invited into the studio to watch an informal showing of culminating class work.
End of Year Performance Showcase
Students at The Academy have the opportunity to participate in an end of year performance showcase if they choose. The showcase includes short works that demonstrate students’ skills learned across the year.
Performance Opportunities with Newport Contemporary Ballet
There are also opportunities for the students to perform in Family Series productions with Newport Contemporary Ballet. Auditions for youth casts of the highly acclaimed Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff are held each fall. Students from The Academy have appeared in previous productions such as Open for Dancing, The Tales of Mother Goose, Alice in Wonderland, Second Star to the Right–A tale of Hook & Pan, and other special performances that require young dancers.

Newport Contemporary Ballet Junior Company
Newport Contemporary Ballet’s Junior Company is an excellent opportunity for serious ballet students to work with talented choreographers and gain valuable performance experience. Many students from The Academy are invited to join. For more information, visit the Junior Company page.
